Research Interests

My research focuses on the cross-linguistic exploration of the morpho-syntax of the extended vP, with a particular attention to the interaction between argument structure, event structure, and case-licensing. My additional areas of interest are natural language processing, second language acquisition, and bilingualism.

My interests in syntax and morphology include:

  • Morpho-syntax of case and agreement
  • The syntax of aspect in Slavic
  • Constructions with 'external' possessors and applied arguments
  • Pronominal copula constructions across languages
  • Quirky subjects in Icelandic, Russian, Hindi and other languages
  • Ergativity

  • Creole languages and languages in contact (Haitian Creole and American Russian)
  • Languages without case and agreement marking
